The Can Says: "Tournament
Bitter brewed by C.B.C.L. Middlesex. Serve
Cool"
Rortise
says: Tournament bitter was indeed an
unknown quantity. Working out at 22p a can it is
roughly half of the price of a can of coke and as
such was a must buy. Many will question as to
whether this bitter qualifys as tramp juice and
many will be adament that it doesn't deserve its
place on this website. However, an examination of
the UPP table will show that it is indeed worthy
of inclusion. The cans were purchased on the off
chance and look very basic to say the least. The
brew can be described as translucent orange and
watery and although it smelt very nice I wasn't
looking forward to drinking Tournament Bitter.

The cans
two toned effort says a lot for simplicity and how
bad it can be made to look. The silver just looks
tacky rather than upmarket and the massive bitter
at the bottom is presumably in case you forget
what you were drinking and thought you were
drinking water. Opening the beer was a chore as
the ring pull was very hard to get under, a sign
of poor design to say the least. Pouring revealed
no head and a watery substance which only vaguely
looked like bitter. Maybe this was water with
chemicals? The first sip was surprisingly nice
because after preparing myself for the worst I was
pleasantly surprised by the water taste. No
amounts of this seemed to get me drunk as you just
piss it out, however, I am sure some cunning soul
will secure a way to get drunk on this beverage.

In Conclusion:
Tournament Bitter was quite simply a revelation.
For 22 pence you can get alcohol. Even a tramp can
afford this cost. The problem is that the alcohol
is not as significant as in other beverages
reviewed among these pages. However, for the price
of one pint at the pub you can have 10 cans of
Tournament Bitter and looking at it this way its
quite simply a bargain and if there's one thing
that we at trampjuice.tk like more than beer then
it is a bargain. This has a downside being the old
adage "you only get what you pay for"
and, yes, with Tournament Bitter you do only get
what you pay for and you do not pay for a lot. In
all honesty Tournament Bitter should be avoided
apart from for comedy value and next to no tramps
are seen drinking it hence the score awarded: 3/10. |
