The Can Says: "Scorpion
Super Strength Lager" Rortise
Says: The "Scorpion Island Brewing
Company" brew this lager of notable can size.
Having never heard of these brewers before I
didn't know what to expect from the can which is
predominantly black with touches of gold and a
splash of Super T blue. The picture of a scorpion
on the front does not bode well as it is not an
icon which is synonymous with super strengths,
unlike the blue can of Super T or the gold
coloured Spesh. 8.5% seems to be the norm nowadays
so does Scorpion taste good or does it have a
sting in its tail?
Scorpion
poured with a lot of head, as is normal with many
super strengths. The smells is slightly soapy with
undertones of lager contrasting with the medicinal
smell. The colour is one of a normal lager, a nice
pale orange colour - too light to be called amber
- from the colour you couldn't tell the difference
between this and, say, Carling. The taste is more
akin to Super T than anything else, although it
has to be said that it is slightly less harsh.
There is a slight sting on the back of the throat
but it is just that, slight. At the end of the day
this super is fairly palatable although the taste
is nothing to rival Bavaria or Tesco super it is
still one to be enjoyed.
In
Conclusion: 8.5% is becoming the norm for the
challengers to Super T and Spesh nowadays but a
500ml can is not. For this reason Scorpion
Super gains an extra bonus point. The taste is
amicable, but there is a lack of tramps drinking
this fine brew and this has to be taken into
account also. All in all the Trampjuice.tk team
feel that Scorpion Super scores high but not high
enough with a commendable 7/10
